  Good afternoon, My dear judges!I am the third competitor. It’s my pleasure to stand here sharing my teaching plan with you. My topic is Unit 1 Cultural relics. Today I focus on Vocabulary section. My plan is composed of several parts. First of all, I’ll talk about analysis of teaching materials.

  Part1 Teaching Material

  My lesson is from New Senior English for China Book 2 Unit 1. The main topic is cultural relics. The vocabulary is related with this topic. By studying this unit, Students will deepen their understanding of the words and phrases from the reading, so it plays an important role for students’ further study.

  Secondly, I’d like to state the analysis of students.

  Part 2 Students

  Students are under a stage of growing and developing, they are unique and codependent. They have gained basic knowledge and skills. However , they think vocabulary is different is recite and be used correctly, thus I will take special activity to help them.

  According to the new curriculum standard, instruction should change its final goal from teaching knowledge to teaching strategies. I set aims as follows.

  Part 3 Teaching Aims

  1.Knowledge objects (语言目标:语音,词汇,语法,功能,话题)

  The Ss can master the pronunciation, spelling of the new words and expressions, such as chance, unless, successfully

  2.Ability objects (技能目标:听,说,读,写)

  SS can use different learning strategies to grasp the knowledge and apply them in daily life.

  3.Emotional objects (情感目标:兴趣,自信,合作,爱国,国际视野)

  SS will be interested in the vocabulary class, and more confident to apply them correctly.

  Part 4 the Key and Difficult Points

  Next, I put forward the key points and difficult points. The key points is to consolidate the new words and phrases and use them to make sentences.. The difficult point is to improve their learning skills and through the process of vocabulary learning.

  Part 5 Teaching and Studying methods

  In this class, I will mainly use Task-based teaching method and cooperation learning methods.

  Part6 Teaching Procedure

  Now let’s come into the most important part of my plan-Teaching procedure. It consists of 5 parts.

  Step1 Lead in

  The first step is lead in. In this step, I will begin like that, boys and girls. Yesterday, we have known about amber room. Do you remember who Frederick William is? Tony, please. You are clever. What’s the meaning of belong to? Today we will discover more detail meaning about words and phrases in the reading part.

  This step can help SS review the reading part and attract their interests and curiosity.

  Step2 Presentation

  At the beginning, SS will retell the story in the reading part. I will show the new words and phrases on the screen according to their story. Then SS will match the new words and phrases with their English meaning. After 2 minutes individual work, Ss can check answers with partners. Later, I will give them some examples to deepen their understanding. For example, belong to, It has 3 kinds of meaning in different situations. Find the proper meaning in the reading part. It can lead them to find the synonym and different meaning of one word and compare the similar phrases.

  This step can help them get a basic understand of the new vocabulary, and lay foundation for next step.

  Step3 Practice

  Next, let’s move to practice step. I will ask SS to play a game. I say you guess. One describe the words, the other guess it. For example, it’s a person whose job is connected with art. Artist. They will play it with their partners in 3 minutes. Later, I will invite some SS to play this game with the whole class.

  The step can help SS consolidate their vocabulary, and master the pronunciation and meaning of the new words correctly

  Step4 Production

  After practice step, I will ask SS to use these words and phrases to describe a beautiful place. They will finish this task in groups within 5 minutes. Later, I will encourage some SS to have a presentation. Other SS will be judges to find out mistakes and give them points

  My purpose here is to comprehend their vocabulary and apply knowledge into their daily life.

  Step5 Summary and Homework

  After this step, I will ask SS to conclude what we have learned. Then I set homework: SS will finish exercises on page3. And use the new words and phrase to describe their favorite artist.

  Homework is necessary to consolidate their knowledge and improve their writing skills.

  At last, I will talk about my blackboard design.
